| Toy Tonics releases a new track by label head honcho Kapote. „Spaceship” is the first pre-single of the 2nd (upcoming) Kapote album. Kapote aka Mathias Modica didn’t release much music in the last few years, as he was mainly building up the Toy Tonics label with his friends and helping the younger Toy Tonics producers to develop their sound and releases. His last music was a collabo EP with Sam Ruffillo (“Robot Salsa” EP) and his own EP called “Electric Slide”. Before that, he did an album “What it is”, released in 2019 on Toy Tonics (that was supported by all kinds of DJs from DJ Harvey, A-Track, and Chromeo to Breakbot). Here comes a mellow and beautifully futuristic tune that connects jazzfunk and house music. It’s a first teaser to what the complete Kapote album might sound like. The song, like the album, is inspired by Japanese electronic music from the 1980ies, American fusion-jazz and Italo disco. |
