Cleeeo makes her Toy Tonics debut with a three-track EP blending Brazilian influences, disco, funky grooves and electronic club music, with subtle touches of the ’70s/’80s rock she grew up listening to.
The EP features “Cheiro, Fogo e Jeito”, “Tiki Tiki Tiki”, and a Kymono Band remix of “Tiki Tiki Tiki” and, across the three tracks, Cleeeo builds a playful, warm and energetic sound rooted in rhythm, movement and a strong sense of groove.
Brazilian percussion and melodies meet disco-driven basslines, funky rhythms and a slightly psychedelic, vintage edge. The influence of rock from her childhood also comes through in the rawer textures, attitude and love for strong hooks. Rather than sticking to one genre, the EP reflects Cleeeo’s approach to music: mixing different cultural and musical references into something personal, colourful and made for the dancefloor.
Her debut on Toy Tonics is the first introduction to a sound that sits somewhere between Brazil, disco, groove and nostalgic rock energy, with a very contemporary club sensibility.
