We’re happy to introduce new artist GUINNY to the Toy Tonics roster.
Singer, DJ, musicianm music digger, producer. She will released her first EP in summer 2024 on Toy Tonics. But as she is an amazing DJ she will start to play Toy Tonics Jams now.
GUINNY is a London based DJ, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, fusing her DJ sets with all flavours of House, Disco and Techno, whilst staying true to her musician roots, keeping organic grooves at the core. Prior to DJ’ing, she trained as a classical violinist, but always found sanctuary in singing and accompanying herself on guitar and piano.
Born and raised in the Midlands, she moved to Budapest in her early 20s after falling in love with its rich, multicultural and unpretentious music scene. Her time in Budapest gave her the opportunity to grow as a musician and singer songwriter. During this time, she also started hitting the clubs and discovering her love for House and Techno in Budapest, as well as dipping her toes into the Berlin Techno scene.
Growing up with 70s Disco and Funk&Soul she always wanted to make dance music. It wasn’t until she learnt how to DJ and began to produce her own music, that the stars aligned. She instantly fell in love with DJ’ing and the idea of capturing the vibe of a dance floor. In the past 2 years GUINNY has built a solid reputation for herself on the London scene opening for Jeremy Underground, Aroop Roy, Kirollus, Toddd Terje, Jkriv, Kapote, Cody Currie and playing in some great London institutions including The Jazz Cafe, Electric Brixton, Ministry Of Sound, XOYO, E1 and even closed the show at The Royal Albert Hall for female Latin collective ‘Colectiva’ She has also gained recognition as a vinyl DJ, reaching just shy of 400k views on her set for renowned vinyl platform ‘My Analogue Journal’
Her energy packed DJ sets are now starting to gain the attention of audiences further afield, making her DJ debut in Rome, Berlin and Budapest in Autumn 2023. Catching the attention of BBC Introducing with her debut single ‘CHANGECANBEARUMDIA’ in April 2023, she has now recently signed with Toy Tonics and is already in the studio working on her debut Toy Tonics release, due to land in early 2024.
